UX Awareness Talk
(18 February 2014) UUID SIG and Interface Design (ID) Department co-host with MDeC (Multimedia Development Corporation) to run a series of UX (User Experience) Innovate Program. The first event was UX Awareness Talk to create UX awareness and to inculcate UX culture by transforming UX culture in the product development process in the organisation/company itself.

User experience (UX) is one of the most prominent aspects of technology-driven products today, with the apparent consensus being that premium experience resulting in positive user response is critical to a product’s success.

  • UX (User experience) encompasses all aspects of the end-user’s interaction with your company, its services, and its products. A great user experience meets the exact needs of the customer, without fuss or bother, simply giving customers what they say they want. UX is the: what, when, where, why, how, and who of a product. Pretty much everything that affects a user’s interaction with that product.
  • Statistic has shown that 97% of websites fail at UX. Websites that fail UX suffer from frustrated users and poor conversion rates – but with the right UX team, the development process can be more productive..and more profitable.

The current UUID SIG Chair, Chui Yin Wong, was invited as one of the UX speakers, and also help to organise the talk. She talked about Designing User Experience, sharing about the UX tools, processes and methods implemented for UX culture in the product development process. Other speakers are: Jason Khong from Apptivity Lab, Walter Wong from Gain Secure, Kelvin and Dr Ho from SDS Associates, and Izwan Ismail from VLT.

The talk was held at Cyberjaya Community club, attracting over 200 participants from various companies, universities and individuals attending the event.
